Stories, spaces and memory made visible

We document Black life
with care.

The rooms, rituals, people, elders, organizers, celebrations and quiet acts of remembering that deserve to be carried forward with tenderness and precision.

KREAYTIF. works with nonprofit organizations, foundations, cultural institutions, churches, spiritual communities, organizers and families who understand that documentation is not an afterthought. It is part of the work.

Our practice is rooted in care, context and intention. We do not simply record what happened. We pay attention to what the gathering meant, who made it possible, what should be protected and what should be remembered well.

Our practice areas

We help families, organizations and institutions gather what matters before it disappears into memory alone.

Documentation

Photography, videography and visual storytelling for events, gatherings, programs, campaigns, celebrations and community moments. Our documentation can include photo galleries, highlight films, short-form video, portraits, recap packages, archival footage and story-centered reflections.

Oral History & Legacy Work

We help families, organizations and communities preserve memory through interviews, story gathering and research-informed documentation. This work may include elder interviews, family legacy projects, organizational histories, anniversary documentation, community storytelling and narrative archives.

Event Planning & Experience Design

We support gatherings from idea to atmosphere. This may include concept development, program flow, run-of-show support, vendor coordination, guest experience, production planning and the narrative arc of the event itself.

Space Curation

We design and curate spaces that hold meaning. From intimate family gatherings to institutional convenings and sacred community installations, we help shape rooms, altars, tables, visual displays and environments that invite people to feel, remember and participate.

Black stories deserve discernment.

KREAYTIF. began as a collaboration among people who know that Black stories deserve more than documentation. They deserve discernment.

Our team brings together film, photography, oral history, sociology, narrative strategy, event design and space curation. We work across cities, disciplines and traditions to help people preserve what their gatherings hold: memory, grief, joy, resistance, beauty, inheritance and the small details that often tell the larger truth.

We are based across Chicago, Minneapolis and Jackson, Mississippi and are available for travel.

Care in practice

Care means asking better questions. It means knowing when to document and when to step back. It means protecting privacy, honoring elders, respecting sacred moments and creating final offerings people can actually use, keep and return to.
